Susan's Yummy Potatoes



8 medium - Red potatoes
1 - Bay leaf
1 can - Cream of chicken soup
1 1/2 cups - Sour cream
1/4 cup - Butter or margarine, melted
1 - Onion, chopped
1/2 cup - Cheddar cheese, grated
1/2 cup - Potato chips, crushed
Salt and pepper

Boil potatoes with bay leaf until tender.
Set aside until cool.
Slice or shred the potatoes.
Mix together soup, sour cream, butter, onion, and salt and pepper.
Put potatoes into a 9x13-inch baking dish, pour mixture over.
Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes. Remove from oven.
Sprinkle 1/2 cup crushed potato chips on top, then 1/2 cup cheddar cheese over them.
Return to oven for a few minutes until hot and bubbly.
Cut in squares.
